When your foreign company's name, key details, or constitutional documents change, you need to update ACRA.

Here is what you need to do

Foreign company's name

If your head office changes its name, you can apply to change your company name.

After the name application is approved, you need to update your entity information.

Foreign company's details

Update your entity information within 30 days if any of these changes:

  • Authorised representatives or directors who join or leave

  • Where you keep your branch register of members

  • Registered office address or office hours

  • Business activity or legal structure in your jurisdiction

Constitutional documents

Update your entity information and file supporting documents within 30 days if any of these changes:

  • Charter

  • Statute

  • Memorandum or articles

Note: You must notarise or certify your supporting documents as true copies by a notary public before filing them.

For any document not written in English: You must provide a certified English translation. Translations made outside Singapore must be certified by one of these officials:

  • Official who holds the original document and has a role equivalent to ACRA in your company's home country

  • Notary public or sworn translator in your company's home country

  • Singapore consular officer in your company's home country

Translations made within Singapore must be certified by a person approved by ACRA.

Here is what you need to do

Appointed representatives or directors

Update the appointment or withdrawal of position holders within 30 days.

You will need to provide:

  • Name

  • Identification (ID) number

  • Nationality

  • Date of birth

  • Land or fixed line number

  • Residential address: ACRA will send all official letters to this address.

  • Contact address: ACRA will display this in its public records instead of the residential address. It must be in the same country as your residential address and cannot be a P.O. Box address.

  • Email address

  • Position held

  • Appointment date

  • Cessation date (if removing someone)
