Note: Backdating the date of transfer or date of allotment is generally not allowed to ensure accuracy and legal compliance. This is because a private company's share transfer or allotment only takes effect once ACRA’s electronic register of members (EROM) is updated upon filing. |

Striking off
ACRA-initiated striking off of companies
ACRA can strike off a company from its register under section 344(1) of the Companies Act.
A common reason for this is failing to file annual returns for several consecutive years. This action is initiated by ACRA and is different from a voluntary striking off that a company applies for.

I am unable to select the director from the dropdown list. What should I do? | Please update your current browser and try again. If the issue persists, do try again on a different browser or an updated device. |
The entity itself is not listed as a shareholder in the shareholding section even though it holds treasury shares. Is this an error? | This is not an error. Treasury shares are displayed under share capital, and it is implicit that the entity is a shareholder of itself. No further action is needed. |
I am seeing a "missing mandatory field" error. What should I do? | If the missing field relates to the entity address or entity email address, you will need to update it via the Update Entity Information page. If it relates to position holder details or a position holder's email address, you will need to update via the update Position Holder Information page. If it is charge-related, you will need to proceed to Variation of Charge page. |
I am getting the error message "Enter identification number in the correct format". What should I do? | This error occurs when one or more identification numbers entered for your position holders or shareholders are not in the correct format. To resolve this, please check the identification numbers of all position holders and shareholders in your records and update them accordingly via "Update position holder information" or "Update shareholder information" before proceeding with your Annual Return filing. |
I have multiple approved Extensions of Time (EOTs), but I am still being charged a late lodgement penalty. Why is this happening? | When you apply for an Extension of Time (EOT), it is tied to a specific financial year end (FYE). This means the approved EOT only applies to that particular FYE and does not carry over to any other financial year. If your company is being charged a late lodgment penalty for the AR filing, this could be because the EOT is not for the specific FYE that your company is currently filing for, or because the EOT application has been rejected. The company would not be charged a late lodgment penalty if the AR is filed within the deadline, inclusive of any approved EOT deadline. |
Information displayed in the form is incorrect. How can I update the information? | Please refer to the following scenarios and advice. |
