An extension of time to file annual return is applicable only to companies with financial year ending on or after 31 August 2018.

Companies can apply for an extension of time of 60 days to file the annual return. As it requires up to 14 working days to process the application, you are advised to submit the EOT application more than 14 working days before the deadline. The application costs $200.

Either a company officer, or a professional firm representing the company, may apply for an EOT as follows:

Step 1: Go to BizFile⁺

Step 2: Under “File eServices", select "Local Company"  

Step 3: Under "Annual Filing", select “Extension of Time for AGM/Annual Return”.  

Step 4: Provide the reason for application. Public listed companies must attach any supporting documents.

Step 5: Ensure that the transaction is completed, following payment of the application fee of $200. An acknowledgement page will be shown upon successful completion of the transaction.

ACRA will not accede to a further extension of the extended deadline unless for strong supporting reasons for e.g., complications arose during the audit of the entities’ financial statements. The supporting documents should be sent to ACRA_CD@acra.gov.sg, at least 14 days before the extended deadline.
