As a PA, you should renew your certificate of registration by 31 December every year.

When to renew

Practising as a PA without a valid certificate of registration is illegal. Renew your certificate to continue providing public accountancy services.

Renewal timeline

Period	Activity
1 to 31 December of the year	PAs to submit renewal applications via Bizfile.
1 to 31 January of the following year	PAs who fail to file the renewal applications by 31 December may: Apply for an extension (EOT) of time via Bizfile (opens in new tab); and Submit their renewal applications in the same transaction.
1 February of the following year	PAs who fail to file their renewal applications by 31 January will be notified of the removal of their names and particulars from the Register of Public Accountants (Register).
1 to 21 February of the following year	PAs whose names and particulars have been removed from the Register may apply via Bizfile to be reinstated to the Register (opens in new tab).
After 21 February of the following year	Submit a new registration application Cost: $1,000

Before you renew

This guide explains how to renew your PA certificate of registration every year. You must complete both of these steps before you renew:

Make sure that you meet the renewal requirements
Update your position in each entity by filing a change in particulars

Who can renew

As an individual, you can renew directly if you are a:

PA
PA for the purpose of becoming a judicial manager (JM) or trustee in bankruptcy (TIB); You can renew if you were appointed before the Insolvency Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 (IRDA) started, and your case is still ongoing

You may also engage a corporate service provider (CSP) to file on your behalf.

This includes: Certificates Attendance lists Letters of certification from employers or lecturers Note: If you are unable to meet the CPE requirements, you can apply for an exemption from the CPE requirements. Do not submit your renewal application until you receive the outcome of your exemption application.

Certificate of renewal fee	A fixed fee of $600 and a variable fee of $150 to $1,050, which depends on these: Number of public accounting entities (PAEs) that you practise in; and Number of listed corporations audited by each PAE in the calendar year before your renewal.

Most renewal applications are approved soon after payment. If further approval is needed, this can take 3 to 14 working days.

Variable fee breakdown

Your variable fee depends on how many listed corporations you audited in the calendar year before your renewal year.

Example: If you renew for 2027, declare the listed corporations you audited from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
