CATEGORY: NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
With effect from 21 August 2020, the Accountants (Public Accountants) Rules will be amended to:
(i) Recognise relevant foreign public practice experience as part of the 5-year public practice experience to qualify as Audit Principals (APs); and
(ii) Prohibit public accountants (PAs) from becoming APs, if they have, arising from disciplinary proceedings, received hot review, restriction, suspension orders or orders prohibiting them from being APs.
The changes are set out in the Accountants(Public Accountants) (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2020 Rules. They will take effect from 21 August 2020.
