Filing a notice to update paid-up share capital

Before you file

You can use the Update shares information eService to notify ACRA of updates to the paid-up amount on partially paid-up shares issued by your company.

Step 1: Log in to Bizfile and open the 'Update shares information' eService

Follow these steps to log in to Bizfile and navigate to the Update shares information ↗ (opens in new tab) eService.

Note: All entity and personal information (including UEN, entity details, NRIC or FIN numbers, names and addresses) shown are dummy data for illustration purposes only.

1. Log in to Bizfile using your Corppass (Business User) credentials.

2. Check that the entity name on the top menu bar and the dashboard is correct. An indicator will show that you are logged in as a position holder of that entity.

3. From the mega menu, click "Manage". Then, select "Update shares information".

4. Scroll to the bottom of the introduction page. Under "Select an eService to update share information", select "Notice to update paid-up share capital" and click 'Start'. If you have a saved draft, click 'Continue with existing' instead.

Step 2: Update share capital details

Follow these steps to check your entity details and update your share capital.

1. Check the entity details to ensure you are filing for the right entity. Then, enter the date of change and click 'Next'.

2. If you need to update the total paid-up share capital amount, click 'Update share capital'. Otherwise, click 'Next' to update shareholders’ paid-up amount only.

3. (Update share capital) Select the currency to update. Then, enter the paid-up share capital amount and click 'Save'.

4. (Update share capital) To add another currency, click "Update other currency" and enter the required information. Then, click "Next".

Step 3: Update shareholder paid-up amounts

Follow these steps to update the paid-up share capital for selected shareholders.

1. Under the Shareholding details section, click "Update individual/corporate shares".

2. Select the shareholder from the dropdown list. Then, click 'Save'.

3. Select the currency and enter the updated paid-up share capital amount. If the shareholder holds shares in trust, you can also update the trust name on this page. Then, click 'Save'.

4. (Optional) To add another currency for the same shareholder, click "Update other currency". To update another shareholder's paid-up share capital, click "Update other individual/corporate share paid-up". To edit an existing shareholder's paid-up share capital, click 'Edit'. Once you complete all updates, click 'Next'.

Step 4: Review and submit

Follow these steps to review and submit your notice.

1. Check all entered information carefully. Tick the declaration checkbox. Then, click 'Submit'.

2. You will receive an acknowledgement message.

3. A notification confirming the submission and updated share information will be sent to your Bizfile Inbox.
