Transitioning to the CSP Act: Existing RFAs & RQIs

Learn how registered filing agents (RFAs) and registered qualified individuals (RQIs) will transition to the Corporate Service Providers (CSP) Act 2024.

Key changes in the CSP Act

The CSP Act took effect on 9 June 2025. If your registration expires on or after 9 June 2025, these changes will apply:

  • Registration period: Two years (instead of one or two years)

  • Registration fees: $400 for CSPs, $200 for RQIs

  • RQI requirements: New membership criteria added

  • Duties and responsibilities: Expanded with higher penalties

Your registration

RFA registrations automatically become CSP registrations on 9 June 2025:

  • You do not need to apply or pay for this.

  • Your registration expiry date remains unchanged.

  • Any existing terms and conditions on your registration continue to apply under section 8(3).

  • You can continue providing filing services to your customers.

Your client list

Your existing client list remains valid and active.

View it through "My Clients" on your dashboard.

Employees' filing access

Your existing employee filing access remains valid and active. No changes needed.

Suspended registrations

If your registration is suspended, it will automatically transition to the CSP Act.

Your suspension continues for its original duration with no changes to your status or suspension period.

Update the types of CSP services you provide

  1. Open the General lodgement eService and log in.

  2. Select Corporate service provider, then Update corporate service provider information.

  3. Complete and submit the form.

Renew your registration before it expires

Ensure that you meet the new requirements before you apply.

Your registration will continue from the expiry date of your existing registration. 

Tip: Renew as soon as possible for a smooth transition.

Your registration

RQI registrations under the ACRA Act will automatically transition to the CSP Act:

  • You do not need to register again or pay for this.

  • Your registration expiry date remains unchanged.

  • Any existing terms and conditions on your registration continue to apply under section 10(3).

  • You can continue to file for the registered CSP who employs, engages, or appoints you.

Suspended registrations

If your registration is suspended, it will automatically transition to the CSP Act.

Your suspension continues for its original duration with no changes to your status or suspension period.

What RQIs need to do

Renew your RQI registration before it expires:

  • Ensure that you meet the new requirements before you apply.

  • Your registration will continue from the expiry date of your existing registration. 

  • Renew as soon as possible for a smooth transition.
