An Act to provide for limited liability partnerships (LLPs).

Background
The Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2005 created a new type of business structure that:
Combines the flexibility of a partnership with the limited liability protection typically associated with corporations.
Enables at least two partners (individuals or corporate entities) to form a business where partners are generally protected from personal liability for the LLP’s debts and obligations.
Maintains the LLP’s status as a separate legal entity that can own property and enter into contracts in its own name.

Limited Liability Partnerships (Amendment) Act 2017
The Limited Liability Partnerships (Amendment) Bill 2017 was passed by Parliament on 10 March 2017 and assented to by the President on 29 March 2017. The Act takes effect on 31 March 2017.
