File a notice of appointment of a liquidator or provisional liquidator

Before you file

After you appoint a liquidator or provisional liquidator, you can use the Manage winding up eService to notify ACRA of new appointments.

Step 1: Log in to Bizfile and open the "Manage winding up" eService

Follow these steps to log in to Bizfile and navigate to the right eService.

Note: All entity and personal information (including UEN, entity details, NRIC or FIN numbers, names and addresses) shown are dummy data for illustration purposes only.

1. Go to Bizfile and click "Login". Then, select "Business User" to log in via Corppass.

2. Check that the entity name and UEN displayed on the top menu bar and dashboard show the entity to be wound up.

3. (CSPs) Click the "Corporate Service Provider" tab on "My profile – Select profile" page. If you belong to more than one CSP firm, select your CSP firm from the dropdown list.

5. You will be directed to the "Manage winding up" introduction page.

Step 2: File the notice of appointment

Follow these steps to formally notify ACRA of a new liquidator appointment.

1. On the "Manage Winding Up" introduction page, select "Notice of Appointment/Cessation of Provisional Liquidator/Liquidator" and click "Start".

2. Check the business entity details to ensure you are filing for the correct entity.

3. In the "Notice of Appointment/Cessation of Provisional Liquidator/Liquidator" section, click "Appoint another liquidator" to appoint a new liquidator.

4. State whether you are appointing a liquidator or provisional liquidator. Enter the appointment date and select the liquidator type from the dropdown list. The appointment date must be the current date or a past date.

For accounting LLPs, local companies, audit firm liquidators, or provisional liquidators

1. Select the liquidator's identification type and enter their identification number. Click "Retrieve information" to retrieve the liquidator's name. Then, enter the liquidator's email address and mobile number.

2. Enter the liquidator's unique entity number (UEN) and click "Search" to retrieve the entity information. Then, click "Save".

For individual liquidators or provisional liquidators

1. Select the liquidator's identification type and enter their identification number. Click "Retrieve information" to retrieve their name.

2. Enter the liquidator's address, email, and mobile number. State whether their address is local or foreign. For local addresses, enter the postal code and click "Retrieve address". Then, provide the level and unit details where applicable and click "Save".

For approved insolvency practitioners (IPs)

1. Enter the IP licence number and click "Retrieve information" to retrieve the liquidator's personal information.

2. Enter their email and mobile number. Then, enter their unique entity number (UEN) and click "Search" to retrieve the entity information.

3. Click "Save" to continue.

1. Enter the approved liquidator number and click "Retrieve information" to retrieve the liquidator's personal information.

2. Enter their email and mobile number. Then, enter the liquidator's UEN and click "Search" to retrieve the entity information.

For Official Receiver

When you select the Official receiver liquidator type, the system will automatically show the Ministry of Law’s official contact details.

Step 3: Review and submit

Review all appointment details carefully before submitting.

1. (Optional) Click "Add new liquidator/provisional liquidator" to appoint additional liquidators.

2. Once you have added all liquidators, check that the tag "To be added" appears below each liquidator's name. Then, click "Review and Confirm" to continue.

3. Review all information carefully. Tick the declaration box and click "Payment".

6. A notification will also be sent to your Bizfile Inbox confirming the successful appointment of the liquidator.
