You need to select SSIC codes when you reserve a business name. Learn how to pick the right code or check options beforehand.

About SSIC codes

The Singapore Standard Industrial Classification (SSIC) is Singapore's system for classifying business activities. The Department of Statistics updates it every five years.

All ACRA-registered entities must use 5-digit SSIC codes to classify their:

  • Primary business activity

  • Secondary business activity (where applicable)

Selecting an SSIC code

When you reserve a business name on Bizfile, you need to select SSIC codes that best describe your business activities:

  1. Under Business activity, enter your search keyword. Then, click Search.

  2. Select one SSIC code for your primary business activity.

  3. If applicable, select one SSIC code for your secondary business activity.
