Changes in Particulars for Sole-Proprietorship / Partnership

Please notify the Registrar if there is any change to the registered particulars of the sole-proprietorship or partnership.

When must ACRA be notified of the change?

Any change in registered particulars must be notified within 14 days after such change has occurred. A penalty may be imposed if the change is notified after 14 days.

Who can notify ACRA of the change and how to do it?

The sole-proprietor / partner or manager (if any) may log into BizFile with his / her identification number and SingPass to submit an online transaction to notify ACRA of the change

Alternatively, the person carrying out the business may engage the services of a professional firm (e.g. lawyers, accountants or chartered secretaries) or service bureau (e.g. DP Bureau) for assistance in submitting the online application.

What is the fee?

A filing fee of $20 is payable for each transaction. One transaction can be used to notify us of multiple changes. However, an additional name approval fee of $15 is payable for a change in the business name.

Who needs to approve / endorse the change before it takes effect?

There are certain changes which require the endorsement (consent) of all the partners. Such changes include the addition or withdrawal of the partners. The endorsement must be done within 3 days from the initial submission date. Some changes do not require any endorsement e.g. change of business address, change of business name and change of business activity.

What if endorsement is not done within 3 days of submission?

The application will lapse. However, you may contact ACRA to request for a further extension of up to 3 days.
