Registered Trade Marks

Selecting the "perfect" name for your company takes a lot of thinking. You may like to create a brand name and develop marketing materials to promote your company and the products and services your company offers. A trade mark can be used in connection with your company's goods and services as part of the branding exercise.

It is not compulsory to register a trade mark in Singapore. However, a registered trade mark grants the owner of the trade mark a statutory monopoly. If someone else uses the same or a similar mark on the same or similar goods or services in respect of which the mark is registered, the registered trade mark owner can rely on his registration as proof of his right to the mark and sue for infringement.
