Celebrating Reform 2008 Report

In the World Bank’s annual survey on "Doing Business" in 2007, Singapore beat 178 countries to take the top position in the "Ease of Doing Business", and 9th in "Starting a Business" categories. Following the rankings, the World Bank had expressed interest to do a case study on the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority’s (ACRA) e-filing system, BizFile.

The World Bank, together with the US Agency for International Development has published 17 case studies in a book entitled "Celebrating Reform 2008" to inspire countries in the world to carry out reforms in business regulations. The case studies span the globe – from Rwanda to Singapore, from Peru to Vietnam, and provide lessons on both the substance and process of the countries' reform efforts.

ACRA is honoured and pleased that its online filing system, BizFile has been featured in the "Celebrating Reform 2008" publication. The case study forms a platform for other countries to learn from ACRA's experience in going online.
