Choosing a Name for Limited Partnership

You may not register or reserve an LP name, or change your LP name to one that is:

• Undesirable
• Identical to that of any other LP, business name, company or limited liability partnership
• Identical to a name reserved under the Business Registration Act, the Companies Act, the Limited Liability Partnerships Act or the Limited Partnerships Act
• Of a kind that the Minister has directed the Registrar not to accept for registration e.g. Temasek

You should also exercise caution and avoid selecting a name which so nearly resembles the name of another business entity such that your LP name is likely to be mistaken for the name of the other business entity. The Registrar has the discretion to direct a change of your LP name if a valid complaint is received.
